Which aircraft types am I qualified to fly?

I am a seasoned airline pilot with expertise in operating a range of aircraft. Currently, I am entrusted with flying the Embraer E1 175/195 and the Embraer E2 190/195 for Royal Jordanian Airlines. Prior to this, I served as a pilot for Flydubai, where I operated the Boeing 737 NG/MAX."

In addition to my commercial airline responsibilities, I possess expertise in aerobatic flight. I am proficient in flying aerobatics with Grob 115B/115D2 aircraft, as well as the Extra 200 and Extra 300 series. This specialized skill set enhances my versatility and proficiency as a pilot.

Do I possess any degrees pertinent to this field?

I possess a strong academic foundation in aviation sciences, highlighted by a competitive scholarship I was awarded from a group of over 300 applicants. This distinction allowed me to be one of only four students selected to advance my studies in Aviation Sciences, leading to my achievement of a Bachelor of Science degree with Upper Second Class Honors in Air Transport Management, conferred jointly by the Emirates Group and Coventry University.

Currently, I am furthering my specialization in the aviation sector by completing a Master of Science degree in Aviation Safety. This educational pursuit not only reflects my dedication to advancing my expertise in aviation but also reinforces my commitment to enhancing safety and operational excellence within the industry.

A game changing event?

I recently experienced a pivotal moment in my career that can only be described as a game-changer. As an airline pilot, I undertook the rigorous German Aerospace Center exam in Hamburg, Germany. This examination, renowned for its difficulty, holds a pass rate of only 20%. The challenges it presents are formidable, demanding a profound understanding of aviation principles, procedures, and regulations. What sets this exam apart is its significance as a crucial step for aspiring astronauts, adding another layer of complexity and importance. Yet, against the odds, I emerged triumphant, having successfully navigated through the complex assessments. This achievement not only signifies my dedication to excellence but also marks a significant milestone in my professional journey, propelling me forward with newfound confidence and determination.

What motivated my decision to pursue a career as a pilot?

I have a profound passion for space, airplanes, and everything that ascends into the vastness of the sky.

My aspiration is to traverse the final frontier as an astronaut, a goal I understand begins with mastering the skies as a pilot, accumulating at least 1,000 hours piloting jet engines. This ambition places me tantalizingly close to participating in NASA's esteemed mission to Mars.

Each time I safely land passengers, I sense a profound fulfillment, as if I've encapsulated the joy of the universe itself. I take immense pride in being the conduit for thousands of travelers each year, reuniting them with their loved ones and homelands.

EMBRAER DELIVERS 1800TH E-JET

Royal Jordanian Airlines

Embraer has reached a new delivery milestone on the world’s preferred small narrowbody aircraft program; the delivery of the 1800th E-Jet production aircraft. The new Azorra owned E190-E2 was handed over to Royal Jordanian Airlines today at Embraer’s facility in São José dos Campos, Brazil.

Today’s delivery is the third E2 for the airline which currently also operates four first generation E-Jets. RJ will recieve a total of eight E2s under the existing deal.

E-Jets have enjoyed global success in the fleets of 90 airlines and leasing companies from more than 60 countries since the first aircraft entered service in 2004. The E190-E2 is part of a family of advanced-generation E-Jets that offer the quietest, lowest polluting, and most fuel-efficient aircraft in the under 150 seat market. In 20 years of service, the E-Jets have carried two billion passengers on 26 million flights a distance of 140 million kilometres with 90 airlines from 60 countries.

Samer Majali, Vice Chairman and CEO of Royal Jordanian Airlines, said, “We are delighted to participate in the milestone celebrations for Embraer and the E-jet program, recognizing the longstanding collaboration between Royal Jordanian and Embraer, supported by our valued partners at Azorra. The E2 family of aircraft supports our strategic aims and seamlessly integrates with our vision for regional connectivity and growth. This represents a pivotal role in our fleet modernization efforts, offering unmatched efficiency, flexibility, and passenger satisfaction. Together with Embraer and our esteemed partners at Azorra, we look forward to delivering exceptional passengers experience, while contributing to a more sustainable aviation industry."

John Evans, CEO and founder of Azorra, said, “For Azorra to be part of this milestone is a true honor and we thank Embraer and our friends at Royal Jordanian for their ongoing partnership. With our E2 orderbook and growing number of airline customers, we continue to see a bright future for these aircraft and the compelling efficiency, superior passenger experience and clear economic advantages they provide.”

Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, attributed the longevity of the E-Jets program to Embraer’s focus on excellence and continuous improvement, saying, “it’s great to mark this milestone along with two key partners, RJ and Azorra.” Meijer continued, “we’re always looking for ways to make our aircraft better – reducing operating costs, extending maintenance intervals, and adding new technology. Later this year we will announce a number of performance improvements for the E2, which has also proven it is ready to fly on 100% SAF. The E2 continues to demonstrate its advantages in fuel burn, emissions, quietness, reliability, and passenger comfort, and airlines are taking notice.”

AIRBUS UPDATES PRODUCTION RATES IN RESPONSE TO MARKET ENVIRONMENT

Airbus is still intending to increase monthly A320 production, but at a slower rate than the originally-expected figure of 47 aircraft.

Airbus is updating its production rate planning for its A320 Family aircraft in response to the market environment.

The new average production rates for the A320 Family will now lead to a gradual increase in production from the current rate of 40 per month to 43 in Q3 and 45 in Q4 2021. This latest production plan represents a slower ramp up than the previously anticipated 47 aircraft per month from July.

That adds up to a staggering financial loss to the industry of around $370 billion, “with airports and air navigation services providers losing a further 115 billion and 13 billion, respectively”, said ICAO in a press statement.

IS IT DIFFICULT TO GET A JOB AFTER GRADUATION?

"In 2016, Boeing have forecast that the aviation industry will require 679,000 new pilots between now and 2035. Airbus have said that between 2016 and 2035, there will be a requirement for in excess of 500,000 new pilots."

Nothing is difficult, just make from yourself someone worth flying.

WHY IS PILOT TRAINING SO EXPENSIVE?

Pilot training is expensive because a student pilot has to fly the actual airplane to build hours. The cost of the fuel, renting the aircraft, and hiring a flight instructor is all included within the training course fee.
